Original 1960s soul trio The Flirtations are known for hits such as “Nothing But A Heartache” and "Earthquake".
The Flirtations (previously The Gypsies) are an all-female musical group, who have recorded since the early 1960s. With the rise of Northern Soul in the UK, the trio moved over the England in 1967. Made up of Shirley Pearce, Earnestine Pearce and Viola Billups, they released what would become their signature recording “Nothing But A Heartache” in 1968. A dense, dynamic, earth-shattering melodrama produced by Englishman Wayne Bickerton and written with Tony Waddington.
